Automatic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy station

Solatron

Equipment

Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) is a complex electrochemical technique. We apply an alternating current is to a sample and monitor the current response. This provides information on sample polarisation and the migration of ions. We use EIS to determine the electrical conductivity of new materials.

Scientists use EIS to monitor corrosion, food mixtures, coatings and even the human body.

Service or Collaboration

We run samples as a service or as part of research collaborations.

Customers or collaborators can fund privately or through innovation agencies. Past funders have included Scottish Enterprise, Interface, and InnovateUK amongst others.

Lead times vary depending on, the complexity of the measurement and current demand.
