Cookies

the ULab system uses a "session cookie", only if you are logging in or logged in to the system. This type of cookie is used to allow the login session to continue between page visits. It is destroyed automatically when you close or quit your web browser. We also use a cookie to store that you have accepted our cookie policy so that we don't need to ask this every time you visit the site. We don't generate any other cookies on the ULab site.

Measuring website usage (Google Analytics)
However, we do use Google Analytics (GA) software to collect information about how you use ULab, and the GA system will generate cookies. We do this to help make sure the site is meeting the needs of its users and to help us make improvements.

Google Analytics stores information about:

  • the pages you visit
  • how long you spend on each page

  • how you got to the site

  • what you click on while you’re visiting the site

This doesn't collect or store any personal information (eg your name or address) so cannot be used to identify who you are, nor is it linked to the session cookie data.
